1) POWER ON THE FTM CONTROLLER
Starting with all devices off, power on the FTM Controller. It will go through a startup test and then go into create network mode where it display "POWER ON SLAVES"
2) POWER ON THE SLAVE MODULES
With the FTM Controller asking for slaves, power on all the intended slave modules.
- Modules must have an internal or external fireTEK Wireless Mesh Antenna
- Modules will need to have the IDs set before they create connect across the fireTEK Wireless Mesh Network with the master device.
- If there is a script pre-loaded into the module, the module will be automatically set to the ID of the loaded script. If this is not the intended ID, delete the script from the module or pre-load the appropriate script to the module.
- Note: A script is NOT required for manual firing and as long as the system is not put into PLAY mode, a loaded script will not affect manual firing.
- Each module on the fireTEK Wireless Mesh Network requires a unique ID.
Once the modules have an ID set, they will connect to the FTM Controller and the number of slaves will be indicated on the FTM Display.
On the module display, a "S" will be displayed in the upper right hand corner to the right of the ID indicating that the module is in Slave Mode and it will go into TEST State.
The FTM will advance to TEST State or the operator can press the green >> FWD Button on the FTM Controller to advance to TEST State.
3) ARM THE SYSTEM
To ARM all devices on the network, a long hold of the >> FWD Button on the FTM Controller will put the system into ARMED State. The Controller will conduct a test and show "Ready to fire" on the display.
4) SELECT AND FIRE CHANNELS
Once ARMED, to manually fire, you select the module, rail, then channel to fire.
Select the module
Use the > Next and < Previous buttons below the screen on the FTM controller to select the module to fire.
When you select the module, you will see the module's screen replicated on the FTM controller.
Select the rail
Use the Right Buttons (RB) 1, 2, 3, or 4 to the right of the display. The button selected will illuminate brighter and and arrow will be displayed next to the rail on the screen.
Note: Without the new OneB function enabled (see more information below) the right rail button must be continuously held down when firing the channels.
Fire the channel
Once the module and rail are selected, use the Left Buttons (LB) 01, 02, 03, .. 12 to the left of the screen to manually fire the channels on the selected rail.
Note: To fire channels 13, 14, 15, 16 with the original FTM-99 Controllers designed for 12 channel rails, a second press of the Right Button (RB) will assign Left Buttons (LB) 03 to 13, 04, to 14, 05 to 15, and 06 to 16. Repeated presses of the Right Button for the rail will toggle back and forth on available channel assignments. This is indicated on the FTM Controller display by showing "X" on the channels that are not able to be fired. Additionally the Left Buttons (LB) with unfired igniters and channel assignments will be illuminated.
The first rail selection - X is shown on channels 13-16
The second rail selection - X is shown on channels 01-12
